Can I determine where the "teaser" ends, and the viewer needs to click on "read more" to view the rest of my post?

This is accomplished with a "break". Place your cursor at the point in your post where you want the "teaser" to end and click on "break" in the editing/formatting tools. You'll see two "breaks" - you'll want to use the one on the left.
